Feeding the soul: PLANTING (40 x 50cm)

Influenced by traditional Japanese art deco wallpaper, the background unfolds in layered greens, gently embracing a young boy (painted in oils) in a quiet moment while planting a fragile seedling. The viewer’s eye is drawn toward the warm golden light that filters through the garden, illuminating soil, hands and intention.
Across cultures and generations, tending the earth has been both ritual and responsibility. To press a seedling into the ground is to believe in tomorrow - to nurture unseen growth beneath the surface, trusting that patience will be rewarded. For many, gardening carries spiritual resonance: renewal, resilience and the sacred exchange between human care and living earth.
In a world that often moves too quickly, I created this piece to honour the quiet wisdom found in small beginnings - how nurturing the earth gently steadies the heart… feeding our souls.
